Dear Benfield Families,

The 2023-24 school year has finally started! We are looking forward to another great year at Benfield Elementary School.

Last year, our Benfield PTO was able to bring back the majority of our children's most cherished events. Many of these events had not been done since 2020. We were extremely thankful for our team of volunteers that were able to make such events happen. These larger scale events included: Apple of My Eye, Mother Son Bowling, the Variety Show, Benny's Fun Run, Adult Social (Benfield Bash), and 5th Grade Promotion. 

We also added several new events to the school year, which included The Winter Celebration and the Ice Cream Social & Book Swap. The halls and outside of Benfield were once again decorated and came alive thanks to all of our door decorators and indoor/outdoor beautification teams.

That brings us to this school year! The PTO has been working hard all summer in collaboration with Mrs. Myers to once again make this school year special. Our main focus for this year includes the following goals:

• We have dedicated a considerable amount of time collaborating as a board with Mrs. Myers to put together a calendar of all major PTO and school events throughout the 23/24 school year. We see value in setting the dates ahead of time because we know how busy our Benfield families are.

   

• You may have already noticed some changes with our room parents volunteer program. Our goal with the changes is to better support our teachers, school, and families through consistent communication regarding upcoming classroom parties and events.

   

• Another important goal is to establish a Classroom Activity Fund so teachers can be creative and do more activities with kids that promote learning.

Finally, we truly feel the success of our school and its students is directly related to the PTO. The more our PTO can do for our teachers, the more teachers can do for our children. Please continue to help support our PTO this year so we can be ready to have the best and safest facilities for our kids and plan incredible social events for our families. We all realize now how meaningful these events are to our lives and creating amazing memories at Benfield!
